Pedro Chagas da Silva is a junior interior offensive lineman from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, majoring in Public Health with a teaching certification at Prairie View A&M University. A graduate of Obra D. Tompkins High School, Pedro brings international perspective, discipline, and grit to the Panthers’ offensive front.
One of his most unforgettable football moments came on September 7, 2024, when he earned his first win as a starter for PV against Northwestern University—a day that also marked Brazil’s Independence Day, making the moment even more meaningful. Pedro’s game day begins with meditation and prayer, followed by a fresh shave and mental visualization of the plays ahead.
Off the field, Pedro enjoys gaming, working out, and spending time with his family. His favorite entertainer is a tie between Rod Wave and Adam Sandler, and his favorite movie is Cars. He finds deep meaning in Christmas, appreciating its connection to the story of Jesus Christ.
Pedro believes one of the biggest challenges facing athletes today is a lack of perseverance and dedication, emphasizing the importance of pushing through adversity instead of avoiding it. Looking ahead, he aims to win at least two SWAC championships and pursue a career as a football coach, ultimately striving to become a high-level college head coach.
Pedro chose Prairie View A&M for its proximity to home, the consistent opportunity to compete for championships, and the vibrant game day experience that makes being a Panther special.
