Darren Vasquez is a junior defensive end majoring in Criminal Justice. Prior to attending Prairie View A&M, he was a student-athlete at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

Darren’s favorite entertainers are Leonardo DiCaprio and Mike Lowrey. His favorite movies are Scarface and Bad Boys. When it comes to food, his favorite is chicken alfredo, a favorite that fuels him both physically and mentally. His favorite holiday is his birthday, a personal celebration that represents a new year and new opportunities for growth.

In his spare time, Darren enjoys playing football, gaming, and indulging in good food. On game days, his ritual is straightforward yet significant: he takes a moment to pray, grounding himself and seeking focus before hitting the field.

Darren believes that one of the greatest challenges for athletes today is being thoroughly prepared, as success hinges on the ability to anticipate and tackle various obstacles. His most memorable moment in sports has been meeting new people and building connections that enrich his athletic journey.

Looking five years ahead, Darren aims to accomplish several goals: obtaining his college degree, owning a Dodge Hellcat, starting his professional career, and living on an island. His dream job involves financial stability and indulging his passion for cars, particularly collecting multiple Dodge Hellcats.
