Prairie View A&M University Purple Zone
Dear PVAMU Athletics Supporter,
Prairie ViewA&MUniversity has made great strides in recent years to return our Athletics program to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Elite & National Recognition. Yet we find ourselves on common grounds with other programs around the nation, confronting fiscal restraints due to the rising costs associated with a college education. This common problem has brought about a unique effort to re-energize our Panther tradition through the establishment of The Purple Zone.
The Purple Zone and its members will be the basis of our structured effort to develop a continuous means of financial support for the efforts of Prairie View A&M Athletes. Through this extension of our program individuals and business will have an opportunity to partner with us and help set the framework for generating those funds that will offset the cost of Student-Athlete scholarships, Academic Assistants, Recruiting, Equipment, and the upgrade of Athletic Arenas & training facilities.
Recent SWAC Championships in Baseball & Women’s Basketball coupled with our success in football, has jump started the Panther Nation and has energized the strong sense of pride felt amongst faculty/staff, alumni, students, and friends. Yes, we acknowledge that a successful athletics program is a major venue to showcase our traditions and in many ways helps to deepen our sense of pride. Our focus will be to use our success as a rallying point for the entire Prairie View Family, and help to enhance the reputation and awareness of the University, which can help us continue to attract the Best & Brightest students to our campus. We urge you to join us in The Purple Zone.
