The Prairie View A&M women's Tennis team will try to finish off its regular season on a high note as it prepares for the rigors of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament. The Lady Panthers will take on Central Arkansas at 10 a.m. on Saturday for senior day and then travel to Houston to play the Houston Cougars at 4 p.m. on Monday.

A 2-1 showing in the SWAC Challenger improved the Lady Panthers' conference record to 4-2, but since then they have suffered a 5-0 loss at Baylor and a 6-1 loss No. 5 ranked Hawaii Pacific (NCAA Division II). Prairie View A&M dropped to 6-11 after its loss to Hawaii Pacific on Saturday, but in the loss Prairie View A&M junior Brittany Harrell defeated Hawaii Pacific's Ielyzaveta Rybakova.

Rybakova was 9-3 entering the match, and Harrell jumped out on her with a 6-4 win in a hard-fought first set. Rybakova struck back in the second set to take it 6-1, but Harrell countered in the tiebreaker and defeated her opponent 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 to pick up her team's only point of the match. Harrell is 6-11 this season with a 4-2 SWAC record as Prairie View A&M's No. 1. She and sophomore Christine Ngo Gwodog have carried the team. Gwodog is 9-6 as Prairie View A&M's No. 3 player with an undefeated SWAC record, but she moved into the No. 2 slot for her last two matches and was handed back-to-back losses. Jade Daniels is also 4-2 for the Panthers in SWAC play.
