The Prairie View A&M women's soccer team finished off its spring soccer schedule with two standout games at Sam Houston State on Saturday, April 6. The Lady Panthers finished in a 1-1 tie with Sam Houston State and then defeated Hill College 2-0 in friendly matches.

“Overall I'm pleased with the way we concluded the spring,” Prairie View A&M coach Abe Garcia said. “We made two strong showings and had a chance to give everybody some playing time. We were able to make improvement from the Texas State Tournament, which gives us confidence going into the fall.”

Junior forward Angie Guillory scored on a penalty kick in the second half of Game 1 against the Bearkats. Her goal tied the game and neither team scored in the overtime periods. In the 2-0 win over Hill College, junior midfielder Maria Sanchez gave the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead in the first half. Freshman midfielder Breanna Powell contributed with a second-half goal as Prairie View A&M piled it on.
