ORLANDO INTERVIEW
One of the most anticipated areas this past spring and now the summer in the Panther football camp was the unveiling of the team's new offensive scheme. Led by first-year offensive coordinator Mark Orlando, the Panther offense has had several defining moments throughout training camp with a few jaw-dropping performances.
“We've made a lot of advancements towards our offense since last spring as we've incorporated some new schemes over the summer,” said Orlando. “(Once we got) our kids into camp with the younger players, I've been pleased with the direction we're heading in with our offense.”
Emotions will run high during the Panthers' season opener on Sunday, Sept. 4 at noon in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Orlando, Fla. as Orlando will debut the offense against his former team in Bethune-Cookman. With Orlando running the offense at BCC in 2010, the Wildcats ranked second nationally in scoring offense and fourth in passing efficiency. The year before Orlando's arrival, the Wildcats ranked 101st and 107th nationally during the 2009 campaign in those same categories.
